MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF OUTWOOD PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON TUESDAY 4TH MARCH 2025 AT THE LLOYD HALL, BRICKFIELD ROAD, OUTWOOD AT 7.30PM

PRESENT:                             Cllrs. De Wiggondene-Sheppard (Chair), Devlin, Baldock, Malley and McIntosh                    

APOLOGIES:                       County Cllr. C Farr, District Cllrs. Bolton and Smith

IN ATTENDANCE:              The Clerk and 6 Members of the Public

PUBLIC QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS

Mr Blackmore from Salfords and Sidlow Parish Council apprised Members of the revised structure of the Redhill Aerodrome Consultative Committee and asked if Outwood PC would be willing to have a representative on this Committee.  Cllr McIntosh volunteered represent Outwood PC.

  1. To approve the Minutes of the meetings held on 7th February 2025. – The minutes of the meeting held o 4th February had been circulated in advance and were proposed for approval by Cllr. Malley, seconded by Cllr. Devlin and signed as a true record.                SO RESOLVED

03/1104                CONFIRMATION OF REPRESENTATION ON RACC (AS ABOVE)

It was proposed by Cllr. Devlin and seconded by Cllr Baldock that Cllr. McIntosh represent Outwood PC on the Redhill Aerodrome Consultative Committee.                                                      SO RESOLVED

03/1106                DISTRICT COUNCILLORS' REPORTS

Cllr. Farr reported that:

  • Officers had been deployed to deal with the sinkhole in Godstone
  • An Extraordinary meeting of the Council will be held on 18th March to discuss the Government’s plans for devolution                                                                          NOTED

03/1108                COMMUNITY MATTERS

  1. National Trust – nothing to report
  2. VE Day Celebrations – Cllr. Devlin updated Members as follows:
    • On 4th May there will be entertainment, food stalls with staging and other equipment loaned from the Lloyd Hall
    • Cllr. de Wiggondene-Sheppard as Chair will join the Chairs from Burstow and Horne to open the events.
    • On VE Day on 8th May, the RBL will hold a lunch in the Lloyd Hall followed by the lighting of the Beacon.  Cllr. Devlin to check the legal status of the Beacon Lighting with the RBL.

NOTED 

  1. Annual Village Meeting – programme.  This has now been set and representatives from village organisations have been written to.                                                                                       NOTED

03/1109                GUIDE TO SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL HIGHWAYS – This had been circulated to all Members.  It was AGREED that Cllr. McIntosh take over the Highways interest for the Parish Council with Cllr. Devlin taking on Footpaths.                                                                                          SO RESOLVED

03/1110                FINANCE – the following documents had been circulated in advance and were proposed for approval by Cllr. Malley, seconded by Cllr. Baldock and signed as required.
